The present invention provides a method for adjusting the stroke length of a ram for presses comprising a ram, a first tool held by the ram and a second tool held by a fixed member provided in opposition to the ram in which method the stroke limit of the ram with respect to the fixed member is set or measured as an original measuring point on or from a point where the first and second tools completely engage each other at a predetermined pressure.
