The hooter has a membrane attached at its centre to a vibrating core. The core has a post of small cross-section that passes through the membrane and whose end is broad in order to hold the membrane with the aid of a washer. A circular channel (16) is located at the bottom of the post in the end face (15) of the core. The end face also has radial channels (17) connecting the circular channel to the outside of the core. The post has a longitudinal channel (18) parallel to the axis of the core and also connected to the circular channel. The three channels are formed by punching. The channels allow air to flow through the hooter but prevent water from penetrating easily.
