A contact printing device having a printer part, a rectangular glass plate arranged on the upper surface of the printer part, a self supporting web which can be extended over a negative and a photosensitive material which is arranged on the glass plate, and which can be retracted again after use, and having a roller which takes up the self supporting web or a pressure roller which can be moved to and fro in an oscillating fashion while the self supporting web is extended in order to press the retaining web against the glass plate, has the characteristic that the glass plate is supported firmly only at its opposite end parts by its four end parts which extend parallel to the axis of the roller taking up the self supporting web or of the pressure roller.
