The unit uses mercury vapour lamps to provide IR and UV rays. It has a stand (4) supporting at least one radiation panel (2) which is free to pivot about a horizontal axis (5) at a height above the floor corresponding to the level of the top of the head of someone (P) seated in front of the panel (2). Pref. the unit has three radiation panels arranged in a triangle, each supported by the floor stand at either end, with the persons requiring treatment seated in front of the panels. The panels can be arranged in line and/or a larger number of panels can be used arranged in a closed polygon.
