Helium compressor for cryogenic refrigeration - has separate and detachable cooling water system to give choice of operating modes

The compressor unit contains the compressor (5), an after cooler (7) and an oil separator and absorber (8,9). It has couplings (10) to connect the suction and discharge (1,2) to a cryogenic refrigerator. The unit also has pressure gauges (3,4) on the suction and discharge connections. The compressor has a cooling jacket (11) in series with the water side (12) of the aftercooler. The water inlet and outlet (14,13) terminate in hose couplings. The couplings can be connected to couplings on a separate unit which contains a water circulating pump (19) and a fan assisted water cooling system or left to operate under air cooling.
