PURPOSE:To prevent the initial capacity reduction and improve the life of a battery by impregnating with an aqueous solution of a sulfate, a plate which is formed by applying a paste on a grid, drying, and aging, and then forming it in a diluted sulfuric acid electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:A lead paste is filled in a grid consisting of lead-calcium family alloy, dryed, and aged to form an electrode, which is soaked in an aqueous solution a sulfate such as sodium sulfate, potassium sulfate, or calcium sulfate. Thus the active material is partially dissolved through a sufficient impregnation into the inside of the electrode with a sulfate aqueous solution, and then it is formed in an electrolyte essentially consisting of diluted sulfuric acid. |
