PURPOSE:To reduce the evaporation of a solvent and to shorten the processing time by processing zinc oxide in a liq. mixture of an aqueous soln. of a sensitizing dye with a liq. dispersant not dissolving the dye. CONSTITUTION:Zinc oxide is processed in a liq. mixture of an aqueous soln. of a sensitizing dye with a liq. dispersant not dissolving the dye to stick the dye to the surfaces of the zinc oxide particles. The dispersant is incompatible with water, and an aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon such as hexane, heptane or octane is suitably used as the dispersant. The water content is made as low as possible, yet the preferred amount of the dispersant is >=10pts.wt. to 1pt.wt. of the water in general. In order to enhance the endurance of a photoreceptor, it is effective to use an aqueous soln. prepared by further adding a water-soluble resin to an aqueous soln. of a sensitizing dye when the dye is stuck to zinc oxide. |
