The motor has two stator end plates (2,3) from which the stator poles project inwards towards one another, to form a cage enclosing a permanent magnet rotor (6). The rotor shaft fits in a mounting (1) in one stator plate (2). The mounting (1) has a head in contact with one side of this plate (2), with a retaining element (19) fitted to the mounting on the side of the plate (2) holding a spring (20) which acts along the longitudinal axis of the mounting (1). Pref. a conductive metal plate (7) is sandwiched between the inside of the stator plate (2) and the retaining element (19), with at least one stator pole (11) fitting through the conductive metal plate (7).
