A hinge means for a top-hung window comprises a gudgeon carrying member (14) at the window sash, and a grooved counterpart member (17) at the window frame. The member (14) is provided with two gudgeons (15, 16) arranged at a mutual distance in the pane of the sash, and the counterpart member comprises a first, vertical groove portion (18) continued at its lower end by a second groove portion (19) being inclined downwardly/outwardly. The dimensions, mutual distances, as well as shapes and location of the gudgeons and groove portions are selected so the sash, during opening and closing movements, will be guided not to contact the frame. The lower groove portion ends in an outwardly directed opening (24), which permits an easy removal of the sash. The opening (24) may be blocked by a removable element or a pocket (23) to retain the lower gudgeon may be provided. <IMAGE> |
