PURPOSE:Titled compound excellent in affinity for living bodies and mechanical properties and suitable as a material for medical appliances and instruments in contact with blood, comprising a reaction product of a specified polyether-diol, a diisocyanate and a diamine type compound. CONSTITUTION:Titled compound comprises a product of a polyether-diol of the formula, wherein a, b, and c are eac an integer >=1, having an oxythylene content of 10-50wt% and a MW of 500-5,000, a diisocyanate, e.g., diphenylmethane diisocyanate, and a diamine compound, e.g., hexamethylenediamine. This compound is excellent in antithrombotic properties, affinity for living bodies, flexibility, elasticity, durability, hydrolysis resistance, wet strength, etc., and suitable as a medical material, particularly a material used in medical appliances and instruments used in contact with blood.
