PURPOSE:To provide uniform rate of electrolyte flowing into each single cell, to increase the driving efficiency as a whole, and to effect operation with stability, by providing one electrolyte inlet on one side of a common manifold and each outlet on both sides in a layer built cell. CONSTITUTION:An inlet 9 for electrolyte is provided on one side of a common manifold 8 and outlets 14, 14' are provided on both sides of the common manifold 12 in a electrolyte cycling type layer built cell made of metal holide. Since the flow of electrolyte from each cell 6 branches to the right and the left at the common manifold 12 on the outlet side owing to this constitution of passage a pressure loss in each cell becomes almost equal and the flow rate distribution of electrolyte is also almost uniform. Accordingly, electro-chemical reaction is equally carried out in each single cell 6. As the result, the greatest efficiency can be easily maintained as a layer built cell. |
