PURPOSE:To realize a magnified display for a part of a secondary picture which is displayed after compression, by storing the information which is not compressed in terms of time into a part of a memory cirucit that stores the information of the secondary picture. CONSTITUTION:When a normal main picture and a secondary picture are displayed, the information of the secondary picture is stored in a memory circuit 24 with a thinned number of scanning lines. The control signal is sent to each of swithces 50- 56 when the secondary picture is magnified. Thus the information is stored in the circuit 24 with no thinning given to the number of scanning lines. Accordingly when the information of the circuit 24 is read and displayed, the area where the 1:1 correspondence is obtained between the supplied horizontal frequency and the horizontal scanning line number of a displayed picture is displayed with magnification. |
