<p>An AC synchronous motor has a permanent-magnet rotor (10) and a stator (14) and a commutator (18a, b) rotatable in union with the rotor. One or more rectifiers (22) are incorporated in the rotating commutator to interconnect the commutator sliders (18a, b). This provides simple starting means and smaller motors. It can be applied also to three-phase motors giving a unified pole conversion circuit rather than the conventional 3-stage conversion means for switching the stator poles.</p> |
