The electronic stepping control is programmed via cross linkages with the functional components, e.g. input signal couplers, stepping counters, decoders, cross linkages for the inputs and outputs, power output stages and monitoring circuits mounted on individually inserted standard circuit boards measuring 100mm x 160mm. Pref. the circuit boards carrying the input signal couplers and the power output stages are mounted in the front panel of the stepping control adjacent an LED function display with simulation buttons allowing system verification. The stepping control can be used for a machine tool or a process system.
