PURPOSE:To easily form a liq. crystal display element with superior design by attaching a frame made of photosensitive high molecular material with high workability to the inside of a sealing member formed on the peripheral part of a substrate. CONSTITUTION:The peripheral part of a substrate is coated with a photosensitive high molecular material (a mixture of diacrylate of bisphenol-A-diglycidyl ether with about 1% benzophenone) by photoengaraving technique or other method in a slightly smaller thickness than the sealing thickness to form a frame 3 having the desired shape. After conducting an interfacial treatment for oeientation, a sealing member 1 is formed by seal printing, and a cell is assembled by an ordinary method. A color liq. crystal is then injected, and a reflection diffusing plate having an arbitrary color is stuck to a part of the lower substrate corresponding to the member 1 and the frme 3. Thus, a liq. crystal display element having a fine border is obtd. |
