PURPOSE:To produce a fixing roller having a good temperature distribution and thus to secure a copy with high quality, by forming a double-structure cylinder for the core metal of the fixing roller at the side to be heated with use of the materials having a high longitudinal elastic coefficient and a high heat conduction factor for the outer and inner cylinders respectively. CONSTITUTION:A core metal 1 is formed into a double-structure cylinder. An outer cylinder 2 is made of a metallic material like a carbon steel tube having a high longitudinal elastic coefficient; while an inner cylinder 3 is made of a metallic material like a copper tube having a high thermal conductivity respectively. Such two cylinders 2 and 3 are pressed and adhered to each other to form a unified core metal. In addition, both an elastic layer 4 and an offset preventing layer 5 are coated to the outer side of the said core metal, and a heater 6 is provided on the inner center line. |
