PURPOSE:To remove impurities and air bubbles in the inside of a cell, by providing a liquid crystal material passage between a display liquid crystal filling part and a waste liquid crystal filling part, executing the filling of a liquid crystal by means of a vacuum injection, and after that, removing the waste liquid crystal filling part. CONSTITUTION:A microgap liquid crystal filling part 3 consisting of a seal member 2 and having an injection hole 4 for a liquid crystal is formed between 2 substrates 1, this liquid crystal filling part 3 is divided into a display liquid crystal filling part and a waste liquid crystal filling part 6, and a liquid crystal material passage 5 is provided between both the filling parts. After the filling of a liquid crystal has been executed by means of a vacuum injection, the waste liquid crystal filling part 6 is removed. When the liquid crystal is injected by means of a vacuum injection, the liquid crystal flows in the direction as indicated with an arrow, and impurities and air bubbles in the inside of a cell are thrusted aside into the waste liquid crystal filling part 6 and are concentrated. Therefore, the impurities and air bubbles which are present in the inside of the cell are removed when a liquid crystal is injected. |
