Magnifying observation spectacles with field of view illumination - has light source supplied by optical fibres in frame

An optical device for strongly magnified observation of narrow fields of view selected manually has an illumination system ensuring coincidence of the emitted light and the convergence point of its optical axes. It is applicable predominantly to microsurgery. Rotationally adjustable senses (5,5') are mounted in ordinary spectacle frame (1) lenses. The frame also contains one or more light sources (3) supplied by an optical fibre cable (2). The light source is directed along an axis between the objective axes (7,7') and in the same plane. The device is aimed accurately at the observation point which is thus automatically illuminated with max. available intensity and no detrimental shadows. The frame can be made of shaped synthetic material with optical fibres embedded in it.
