PURPOSE:To reduce the number of maintenances by providing in advance a plurality of heads, detecting the malfunction of a head when the head malfunctions, moving the head and automatically setting the unused head to an injection position. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of heads 1-4 are provided on a mounting plate 5. Ink is supplied to a head 1 set to the injection position, allowing the head 1 to inject the ink. The ink is charged by a charging electrode 6, and is deflected by a deflecting electrode 7 to be adhered to a recording sheet 10. When a malfunction occurs at the head 1, a signal is produced from a malfunction detecting means for detecting the variation in the ink pressure in the head. Thus, a pulse motor 14 is operated to rotate a plate 5. Then, the head 2 is set to the injection position. Thereafter, an ink supply distributor is switched from the head 1 to the head 2 to supply the ink to the head 2. Thus, the printing is continued. |
