A filling chamber is provided so that its conical or cylindrical mantle covers the circular movement path of the cable strands. Rotating twisting discs at each end of the chamber support the guide tubes for the cable strands. The assembly gives a twisted cable with a centrally-inserted filling filament, coated with a water-repellant material. It can be used with a cable twisting machine with a cross rotating twisting cage.
