PURPOSE:To obtain an optical deflector having a simple structure and a low price which is suited to a comparatively low-speed scan, by using a cam that rocks an optical scanning mirror with the prescribed polarizing angle properties. CONSTITUTION:A rocking member 2 and then a reflective mirror 5 rock around a supporting shaft 1 with the rotation of a cam 7 fixed to an output shaft of a motor 6. The output direction of an incident beam 9 varies to perform the deflection of beam. In this case, the form of the cam is decided to satisfy theta=komega (k: constant), where theta is the angle of deflection of beam and omega is the angle of rotation of the cam 7. As a result, an optical deflector which is suited to a comparatively low-speed scan is obtained with a simple structure and a low cost. |
