The accessory is interded for a circular saw unit used for cutting mitre joints in e.g. a window frame member (10) and comprising a frame (3) with (horizontal 18) work support (16,17) and a circular saw blade (6) with drive motor (in 5) swivelably (on 4) adjustable (14) from a vertical (25) to a 45 deg. position (26). A work rest (33) assembly (28) is adjustably mounted on the frame and permits the work to be swivelled (about 27) by an angle (beta) relative to the horizontal (18) to cut the work at an angle (alpha) smaller than 45 deg. from the vertical (25) for producing a mitre joint of less than 90 deg.
