发明名称 FLOW RATE MEASUREMENT OF MOLTEN METAL
摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure directly and swiftly as a change with time the flow rate of molten steel flowing in a mold by charging an inert gas through each of the openings of two pipes and detecting the difference of the back pressures between two pipes. CONSTITUTION:Ends 1a and 2a on one side of pipes 1 and 2 are closed and ends 1b and 2b on the other side of them areoopn. The pipes 1 and 2 are submerged into molten metal so that the closed ends 1a and 2a get into the molten metal 6. Then an inert gas is charged through the open ends 1b and 2b to detect the difference between the back pressures of the pipes 1 and 2. At this detection the gas supply pipes 10 that are connected to the open ends 1b and 2b are provided with pressure detection ends 8 and 9 at equal distance from the openings 3 and 4 to supply the same amount of inert gas through the inlets 11, and foam 12 is produced intermittently that comes from the openings 3 and 4. When the foam 12 is produced from the openings 3 and 4, back pressures are measured at the pressure detection ends and the flow rate of flowing molten metal can be found out by the difference of those back pressures.
