PURPOSE:To accurately record career of usage, by reading a discriminating code written on a storage medium and writing the discrimination code to be read in a non-volatile memory in the order of usage of the storage medium. CONSTITUTION:When a start button is depressed, a START motor 10 turns and a shaft of a disc pack 11 is turned. When this rotation reaches a prescribed speed, a head controller 12 operates a required head to enable information readout from a corresponding disc. When the head is operated, a discrimination code specific to a pack of a disc pack 11 is read, the information is temporarily stored in a register 13, and this content is written in an area indicated with a pointer 15 of a history memory 14 of non-volatile storage. The pointer 15 is, e.g., an address counter of 16 notation and it instructs the area split into 16 in the memory 14 cyclically. The area in the memory 14 is instructed and when the content of the register 13 is written, READY is outputted and the pointer 15 counts up the content of itself by +1. |
