PURPOSE:To improve recording density by reducing cross talk from adjacent tracks by mutual cancellation. CONSTITUTION:Four tracks are regarded as a unit group in the order of write systems A, B, -A, and -B, and a desired track is given a prescribed mutual phase relation of a recorded or reproduced signal whith an adjacent track at any selected position. Namely, the timing for switching the bit sections of both the tracks is inverted at the same time and in the opposite phase states. Groups A and B discriminate the 1 and 0 of the reproduced signal approximate at timing (r) in the bit section and timing (2r) respectively. A track A has[0]with the signal 0 and[1]with the + or -1, and a track B has[1]with the signal 0 and[0]with the + or -1 during writing operation, thus reproducing the signals[1]and[0]without cross talk. |
