PURPOSE:To obtain a stabilized image even after repeated copying, by using a photoconductive layer consisting of a photoconductor and a diester type derivative of a maleic anhydride alternating copolymer. CONSTITUTION:An electrophotograhic receptor is fundamentally composed of a substrate, a photoconductive layer, and an insulating layer, and this photoconductive layer consists of a photoconductor, such as Zn, Mg, Sb, Cd, or the like oxide, sulfide, iodide, or the like, and a diester type resin of the formua derived from a maleic anhydride alternating copolymer resin, such as the methyl ester of a maleic anhydride-styrene alternating copolymer. In the formula, A is a comonomer unit, and R1, R2 are alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl, thus permitting accumulation of charge near the surface of the photoconductive layer to be reduced, surface potential to be always kept constant in repeated copying, independent of frequencies of uses, pause time, pause condition, deterioration degree, etc., successive potential rise phenomena almost not to occur, and a stable image to be obtained. |
