PURPOSE:To simply engrave a pattern on the surface of a long member by such an arrangement wherein a disk of wich outer circumference is provided with an engraving pattern or a printing plate is installed so that the direction of movement of its outer circumference is tilted by a specified angle from the longitudinal direction of the long member and the long member is pulled with the disk kept pressed against its surface. CONSTITUTION:A long member guiding block 1 has a linear guide groove 3 of which crosssection is in the form of V and a disk 4 of which outer circumference is provided with an engraving pattern is supported directly above the guide groove 3 so that it can freely rotates around a horizontal axis 5. The disk 4 is installed so that the moving direction of its outer circumference is tilted by an angle of theta from the longitudinal direction of the guide groove 3. In engraving a pattern on a long member 2 having a circular crosssection, said long member 2 is firmly set in the guide groove 3, the height of the rotational outer of the disk 4 is properly changed and its outer circumference is pressed on the surface of the long member, and after that engraving is accomplished by pulling the long material 2 in the direction of an arrow while it is firmly kept not to deviate. |
