URINARY CATHETER

A urinary catheter with a retention member in the form of an expandable balloon (3) intended to when inflated in the urinary bladder of the user retain the catheter (1) in position. The catheter is provided with at least one inlet opening (4) for the urine at the end portion located in the urinary bladder. The catheter according to the invention is characterized by the fact that the expandable balloon (3) is arranged below the inlet opening (5) and is so designed that it in inflated condition has portions projecting forwards past the catheter tip (2) at some distance from the inlet opening (5) and by that prevent contact between the mucous membrane of the urinary bladder and the catheter tip as well as the inlet opening.
