PURPOSE:To reduce the concentration of nitrogen oxides, by providing a line to cause a gas turbine to suck nitrogen separated by an air separator, to lower the oxygen content of air. CONSTITUTION:A pipe 18 having a control valve 20 is provided between an air separator 12 and the compressor 4 of a gas turbine 6. A pipe 19 is connected to a cooler 17. After air from a compressor 15 is cooled by a heat exchanger 16, oxygen and nitrogen are produced in the air separator 12. The oxygen is supplied to a gasification furnace 2. A half of the nitrogen is supplied to the compressor 4 through the pipe 18 and the other half is supplied to the cooler 17 through the pipe 19. Before the former half of the nitrogen is sucked into the compressor 4, it is mixed with air. The mixture is contracted by the compressor 4 to burn fuel in a combustor 5. To make the mixture, 10-15% by volume of the nitrogen is added to the air. The gas turbine 6 is run at prescribed temperature and air pressure. Because of the addition of the nitrogen, the oxygen content of the air is reduced to greatly lower the concentration of nitrogen oxides. |
