PURPOSE:To almost uniformly cool a front and a rear groups of cylinders efficiently, by distributively connecting the discharge pipe of a cooling water pump to the jackets of the cylinders located nearer to the pump. CONSTITUTION:A cooling water pump 14 is located on a side where the end of a front row of cylinders 9 is protruded more outwards than that of a rear row of cylinders 9'. The discharge pipe 14a of the pump 14 is distributively connected to the jackets 19, 19' of the cylinders 9, 9' located nearer to the pump. The water passages of the jeckets 19, 19' are connected to the other cylinders 9, 9' located more distantly from the pump 14. According to this constitution, the cylinder 9' located nearre to the cooling water pump 14 and belonging to the rear row which is not enough cooled by air is cooled by lower-temperature water directly supplied from the pump. For that reason, all the cylinders 9, 9' are uniformly cooled. |
