PURPOSE:To run a tape stably, by controlling a supply reel motor to normal and reverse torque and controlling a take-up reel motor to normal torque in relation to the motion of tension arms in the recording/playback mode. CONSTITUTION:Tape tension detecting mechanisms 13 and 14 consisting of potentiometers and etc. are attached to tension arms 6 and 12, and outputs of mechanisms 13 and 14 are supplied to supply and take-up reel motors 3 and 4 through a switching circuit which is controlled by the control signal from a controlling circuit. In the recording/playback mode, the supply reel motor 3 is controlled to normal torque because the tension arm 6 is moved in a direction C, and the take-up reel motor 4 is controlled to normal torque because the tension arm 12 is moved in a direction A. When the device enters into the steady state from the running start state, the supply reel motor 3 is controlled to reverse torque, and the take-up reel motor 4 is controlled to normal torque. |
