PURPOSE:To realize a simple and compact corona discharge which is used for the electrostatic recording, etc., by adding a constant current element to a circuit including a high voltage power supply and a corona discharge electrode and applying a constant level of current to the corona discharge electrode. CONSTITUTION:The electric power is supplied to a primary discharger 2 and a transfer discharger 8 from one terminal of the high voltage output of a DC high voltage power supply 24 via the constant current elements 22a and 22b. Thus the elements 22a and 22b can feed the constant currents iT1 and iT2 to each discharger respectively, regardless of the fluctuation of the corona discharging conditions. Accordingly the corona discharge current can be set at a constant level with each discharger regardless of the corona discharging conditions such as the atmosphere, etc. by using a constant voltage power supply having a sufficiently high level of the power supply voltage within the limiting range of a constant current element and also having >=(iT1+iT2) current capacity respectively. An AC constant voltage power supply or a DC or AC constant current source is available to the power supply 24. Furthermore plural corona discharge electrodes can be connected to each other with intervention of a constant current element. |
