PURPOSE:To prevent heat transfer media from mixing with each other by a structure wherein heat pipes for heat exchange are contained respectively within a heat accumulating vessel and a storage vessel, both of which are respectively packed with metal hydride as heat accumulating material, and said vessels are heat-exchanged therebetween by means of said heat pipes. CONSTITUTION:The heat pipes 7 and 8, within which working fluid changing its phase from gas to liquid and vice versa is sealed, are contained resepectively within the heat accumulating vessel 1, within which metal hydride 3 with strong hydrogenation activity is packed, and the storage vessel 2, within which metal hydride with weak hydrogenation activity 4 is packed. The extended ends of the heat pipes 7 and 8 are respectively stretched over and installed in the primary and the seccondary heat exchange chambers 9 and 10, which are separated into halves from the heat accumulating vessel 1 and from the storage vessel 2 respectively. The heat accumulating vessel 1 and the storage vessel 2 are connected with each other through a switching valves 5 by means of a hydrogen transport pipe 6. The primary heat exchange chamber 9 and the secondary heat exchange chamber 10 are also connected with each other through a switching valve 24 by means of a hydrogen transport pipe 25. In addition, the high and the low temperature heat transfer media are separately circulated through transport pipes 14 and 15. Owing to the structure as described above, the heat transfer media can be prevented from mixing with each other and as well as the efficiency of heat transmission of the equipment can be prevented from lowering by adhesion of rust and deposit on the inside surface of the transport pipes 14 and 15. |
