PURPOSE:To detect and remove the jamming and winding of a form easily by putting a pressure releasing means for transfer paper by the signal of a jam detecting means when a jam is detected by the means. CONSTITUTION:For example, paper is jammed at a fixing roller part or wound around a roller 11 or 12. In this case, a switch SW2 never turns on a prescribed time after a switch SW1 turns on, so the occurrence of a jam is detected. When the switch SW2 detects the jam, a solenoid 38 is turned on to put a clutch 25 in operation, and a pressure roller 12 is lowered to turn a cam by 180 deg.; after the clutch 25 is put in a free state, a clutch 22 for coupling a driving source with a gear 23 is also put in a free state, thereby stopping the rotation of the fixing roller 11. Therefore, a form jammed at the fixing roller part or wound around the roller 11 or 12 is removed easily and completely. |
