PURPOSE:To make it possible to carry out smooth and accurate flaw detection regardless the dimension of a flange or a steel pipe and the presence of absence of obstacles by causing a detection probe, installed to a clamp unit through a rotary unit and a running drive unit, to slidably contact with the outer circumferential surface of a steel pipe in the vicinity of a welded portion. CONSTITUTION:A clamp unit K is arranged so that it can be fixed to a flange body FB when two fixing plates 12 are moved into the internal circumferential surface of a flange portion FL by the operation of a handle 13 and it can also be moved away therefrom and removed. For example, a rotary unit C composed of a ring 21, which is externally coupled with a gear box 11c to be freely movable and also coupled with a clamp frame 11 to be freely rotatable and a frame 22 and a running drive unit D composed of a motor 31, drive wheel 32 and guide wheel 33, etc. are provided. Further, a supporting unit S composed of support units S1, S3 which move and adjust a detection probe PB in the direction of the diameter of a steel pipe SP, a support unit S2 which moves and adjust the probe in the longitudinal direction and a support unit S4 which follows the detection probe PB to cause it to slidably contact with the surface of the steel pipe SP is provided. |
