PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having no variance in coercive force with good vapor deposition efficiency by moving the 1st, 2nd substrates along respective rotating cans in a device and regulating the diagonal vapor deposition angle to the 1st substrate with the 2nd substrate. CONSTITUTION:The 1st, 2nd rotating cans 5, 6 are disposed opposite to the evaporating material 3 in a vassel 4 in a vacuum vessel 7. A substrate 1 is moved along the can 5 and a substrate 2 along the can 6. Here, the diameters and relative positions of the cans 5, 6 are so selected that the masking of diagonal vapor deposition for determining the incident angle to the substrate 1 is accomplished by the vapor deposition to the substrate 2. By such method, magnetic recording media having coercive forces of different magnitudes are effectively obtained. The variance in the coercive forces in the manufacture of the media is suppressed and the vapor deposition efficiency is improved. |
