PURPOSE:To change a delay time of a detection signal and to perform the time axis compression, expansion and inversion of an electric signal and sample holding, by detecting an ultrasonic wave signal by using ultrasonic waves and light for signal detection and controlling the detected time and position. CONSTITUTION:A plane light is made incident to an acoustooptic cell 1 providing oscillators 4 and 5 and an ultrasonic wave absorbing member 6a at an inner wall, an ultrasonic wave signal is emitted into an ultrasonic wave propagation medium 2 filled in the cell 1 made of the oscillators 4 and 5, the change of phase is givem to the said plane light, and this phase change is detected with an optical method using a lens 13 and a spatial optical filter 15 and optically converted 18, allowing to obtain an analog input signal applied to the oscillator 4 with time delay. When the time and position of transmission of an ultrasonic wave beam for signal detection emitted from the oscillator 5 are determined in a regular order at a sweep control circuit 23, sampling output signals with different delay time slightly for the said input analog signals can be obtained, allowing to obtain the signals performed with time axis compression, expansion, inversion and sample holding. |
