PURPOSE:To execute automatic loading without using a special selecting device, etc., by forming a magneto-resistance effect element (MR element) along each opposed side edge of a substrate of a magneto-resistance effect type magnetic head (MR head). CONSTITUTION:A substrate 21 is formed by a glass plate, etc., also is formed to a quadrilateral, and along its opposed side edges, an MR element 22 is formed by a thin film accumulation method. Also, each both end of these MR elements 22 is electrically connected to a pair of electrode parts 23, 23 formed on the substrate 21 in the same way. Also, a wire 32 is connected to the electrode 23 of the substrate 21, and its outside terminal is connected to a lead electrode 33 on a mold substrate 34. In this way, the MR elements 22, 22 are formed along the opposed sides of the substrate 21, therefore, they are arranged so as to have rotation symmetry, and it is unnecessary to mind a difference of up or down, and right and left. Accordingly, automatic loading can be executed without using a special selecting device, etc. |
