METHOD OF RECLAMING VULCANIZED RUBBER

PURPOSE:To obtain quality reclaimed rubber with the desulfurized rubber prevented from being oxidized and deteriorated, by heating a vulcanized rubber so that desulfurizing reaction is effected, and cooling it rapidly. CONSTITUTION:A vulcanized rubber is heated to the desulfurizing temperature so that desulfurizing reaction is effected, and then the resulting desulfurized rubber is rapidly cooled to a temperature at which the oxidation deterioration would not occur. Preferably the heating of the vulcanized rubber is carried out by microwave heating. Preferably, the cooling of the desulfurized rubber is carried out by adding water to the desulfurized rubber. The amount of water added to the desulfurized rubber is preferably such an amount that the weight of the desulfurized rubber will not change.
