发明名称 CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD USING ELECTROMAGNETIC AGITATION
摘要 PURPOSE:To perform full-scale production of ingots directly without preliminary tests by selecting the operating conditions which are optimum in the agitating effect necessary for the production of the ingots from the empirical correlations between the current density of the current conducting wires of an electromagnetic agitator and the requirements for the index of the central segregation of ingots. CONSTITUTION:The current density of the current conducting wires of an electromagnetic agitator are changed variously, and ingots are produced continuously. With respect to the resultants ingots, a min. index of central segregation, the degree of segregation in a white band C, and a min. rate of equiaxial crystal are determined. The values thereof are plotted on coordinates and a graph is beforehand made up. The index of central segregation and the rate of equiaxial crystal are expressed by the length of the central segregation with respect to the overall length of the section of the ingots and the thickness of the equiaxial crystal parts with respect to the overall thickness of the section of the ingots. The degree of segregation in the white band C is expressed by the analytical value of the white band parts with respect to the analytical value of the components in the surface part of the ingots. The optimum operating conditions corresponding to the quality in the effect of agitation required by the ingot to be produced are selected from the above-described correlations plotted to the graph. Thus the full-scale production of the ingots is performed directly with decreased laboriousness, etc. of preliminary tests.
