PURPOSE:To improve the heat dissipation of the piston and prevent the protrusion of the top land part thereof by a method wherein the ring zone of the main frame of the piston for the internal-combustion engine made of a light alloy and the top land part thereof are reinforced by fiber by an annular fiber formed body. CONSTITUTION:The annular fiber reinforcing layer 4, formed simultaneously with the casting of the main frame 1 of the piston, is provided on the main frame 1 of the piston cast by using light alloy such as magnesium alloy or the like at the ring zone excluding an oil ring groove part 5 or a compression ring grooves part 2 and the land part 3. The annular fiber reinforcing layer 4 is formed by filling the fiber forming body F formed by various kinds of fibers such as a metallic fiber, silicon carbide, silica series or the like with the light alloy M forming the main frame 1 of the piston by means of high pressure solidifying method to compound it. |
