<p>PURPOSE:To suppress a crosstalk to a low extent, to reduce an electrostatic capacity, to increase resolution, and also to execute an operation at a high speed, by forming a groove between adjacent switching electrodes. CONSTITUTION:An optical siwtching array consists of an electrode 2 on one surface of a transparent porcelain substrate 1, switching electrodes 31, 32,-, 3n opposing to said electrode, and its lead wires 31a, 32a,-, 3na, and by applying voltage between the common electrode 2 and the selected switching electrodes 31-33, electric fields A-C shown by an arrow of a broken line are generated, and the refractive index is varied. By forming grooves 11, 12-, between the switching electrodes 31, 32,-, 32n, a crosstalk is suppressed to a low extent, an electrostatic capacity is reduced, resolution is increased, and also an operation is executed at a high speed.</p> |
