摘要 PURPOSE:To ensure smooth operation by identifying an abrupt variation in an internal-combustion engine and modifying ignition timings of cylinders which are sequentially actuated after the variation. CONSTITUTION:A means 50 identifies an abrupt variation, if any, in revolution number or other operational conditions of an internal-combustion engine 10. Based on the detection result of a vibration, namely, a criteria for the identifying time, which is created at one processing cylinder of the internal-combustion engine 10, actual ignition advance values of the other cylinders which are sequentially operated after said cylinder are respectively modified in order and moreover, based on the respective modified results, ignition timings of the cylinders which are actuated after the proceeding ones are respectively adjusted. Therefore, even in the transient operational condition of the internal combustion engine 10, ignition timing at respective cylinders may be quickly and properly adjusted in response to a knocking vibration from the internal combustion engine 10 which is associated with the transient operational condition thereof, thereby ensuring smooth operation of the internal combustion engine.
