PURPOSE:To perform the initialization of a link, by shifting the corresponding circuit to a cutoff state due to the fact that the confirming signal can not be obtained several times to a cutoff indicating command which is transmitted for each of plural physical circuits forming a communication link. CONSTITUTION:A plural circuit communication control part (MLP) 20 of a communication device 1 which requires the initialization sends a link cutoff indicating command to SLP21-29 of a communication device 2 of the remote side via single circuit communication controlling parts (SLP) 11-19. The SLP21-29 transmits a confirming signal UA after receiving the command DISC to have a link cutoff state. In this case, an MLP30 commands the transmission of the DISC to be given to the device 1 to the SLP which was unable to receive the DISC. Then SLP11-19 cut off the link with reception of the signal AU. The SLP which transmitted the DISC retransmits the DISC if no UA is received within a prescribed period. When the retransmitting frequency reaches a prescribed level, the circuit fault is reported to the corresponding MLP. Then a link is cut off. |
