PURPOSE:To detect the coordinate positions of defects in the circumferential and axial directions of an object to be measured by obtaining the length measuring outputs in the axial direction and circumferential direction of said object from an actual angle detector and a revolution detector for a skew roll shaft. CONSTITUTION:The actual angle signal from the actual angle detector 4 of a skew roll 2 disposed in conformity with the skew angle of an object 1 to be measured under movement is inputted to a digital cosine and sine conversion circuit 7, by which the cosine and sine outputs of the skew angle theta are calculated ed and are inputted to digital multiplies 9, 10 through a buffer register 8. On the other hand, the pulses corresponding to the revolutions of the roll 2 are inputted to the multipliers 9, 10, by which a cosine output 11 and a sine output 12 are multiplied, and a measuring pulse output 13 in an axial direction and a length measuring pulse output 14 in a circumferential direction are obtained. Therefore, the coordinate positions of the defects in the circumferential and axial direction of the object 1 are detected with high accuracy. |
