<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the increase in threshold voltage even when a low frequency electric field is applied by maintaining the impedance of oriented films on electrode substrates at prescribed values or below. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 4a, 4b for applying electric fields to a liquid crystal 3 are formed on substrates 1a, 1b of a liquid crystal display, and oriented films 5a, 5b are coated on the substrates 1a, 1b and electrodes 4a, 4b. The films 5a, 5b have <=1.0X10<4>OMEGA/cm impedance when frequency is 10Hz. For example, conductive graphite powder (weight 10) is added to a prepolymer of polyimide (weight 1.00) and coating films of 1,000Angstrom are formed and are calcined at 300 deg.C, whereby the films 5a, 5b consisting of polyimide are formed. An increase in threshold voltage is thus prevented even if a low frequency electric field is applied.</p> |
