PURPOSE:To enable to easily exchange heat storage units consisting in unitizing a large number of steel bars for heat storage by a structure wherein the heat storage units are inserted in an exhaust gas passage through an openable cover provided on a regenerative furnace body in the heat storage device of the exhaust gas employed in an electric furnace or the like. CONSTITUTION:The cover 17 lined with refractory body 16a is provided at the upper part of the shell 14 of the furnace body of the heat storage device and supporting beams 19, on which the heat storage units 18 are carried, are installed at the ceiling part of the shell 14. The heat storage unit 18 consists in unitizing a large number of steel bars 18a with high heat transfer efficiency by arranging in a line. The unitized heat storage units are arranged in many rows, the direction of which is set so as to traverse the exhaust gas passage. Accordingly, even when dusts adhere to the heat storage units by the result of direct heat exchange with dust-bearing exhaust gas and openings between the steel bars 18a are clogged, the exchange of the heat storage units can be performed by every unit, which is flushed by rinsing or the like in order to be able to regenerate, by opening the openable cover 17. Furthermore, a preheating burner 24 is provided at an exhaust gas introductory port 12 in order to ensure the deodorizing effect at the initial stage of the operation of the electric furnace. |
