PURPOSE:To obtain rapid and accurate attitude control, improve operation index and to permit automation of the operation while surely preventing contamination and increasing the yield by a method wherein a number of pellets are temporarily housed in a pellet mount jig in respective arbitrary attitudes, and then the magnetic field is applied thereto cause all the pellets to be aligned in a predetermined direction. CONSTITUTION:In controlling an attitude of each pellet 18 within a glass ring 1 in a carbon jig 6, the glass rings 1, 1... and slag leads 4, 4... are inserted into through holes 9, 9... and thereafter permanent magnet plates 10, 11 are abruptly approached toward the side walls of the carbon jig 6 from both sides in an oppositely opposed relation and then stopped. This causes a pellet 18' lying sideways to instantly change its attitude into a proper fixed state as indicated by solid lines with a nickel layer 16 lying parallel to the magnetic field 19, under an action of the substantially uniform and parallel magnetostatic field 19 produced between both permanent magnet plates 10 and 11. Such a change in attitude can be effected even in an inverted state wherein the pellet is reversed with a bump 21 being abutted with a lead out electrode 3. Attitude control of the pellet 18 is carried out through the applied magnetic field in a contactless manner, thus eliminating a danger of undesired contamination. |
