PURPOSE:To improve operation efficiency by allowing a memory to access itself and generate and transmit an overflow signal to access the remaining data in other memory when an address signal to the former memory causes an overflow. CONSTITUTION:Memories 210, 220, 230... are equipped with address overflow detecting means. For example, if the memory 210 is not capable of outputting all necessary data when an address for reading and writing close to the upper limit of its address range is specified, the memory outputs only its holding data and sends the address overflow signal OFO to the memory 220 with adjacent addresses, which outputs data corresponding to the deficient data of the memory 210. Consequently, the reading or writing of data starting at an optional address is performed to improve the operation efficiency and the effective use of storage areas. |
