PURPOSE:To exactly execute the processing corresponding to each case, by exactly detecting a discontinuous point in case of hand-cut editing, electronic editing, in case when overlapped write recording is executed irrespective of a tape which is recorded already, in case when dropout occurs frequently, or the like. CONSTITUTION:An input analog signal applied to a terminal 1 is converted to a digital signal by an A/D converter 2, and is inputted to a delay memory 3. The delay memory 3 is a memory for compensating a running time of a tape 9 between a preceding reproducing head 10 and a recording head 8, and the delay time is adjusted so that a signal detected by the preceding reproducing head 10 and applied to the recording head 8 becomes the same as a pattern existing actually on the tape 9 at the point of the recording head 8 at the time of electronic editing. In a format constituting circuit 4, time compression for converting the input digital signal to a tape format pattern, interleave, also addition of an error correcting code, etc. are executed. |
